Efficient insulation of pipe systems such as stainless steel chimneys, exhaust silencers or ventilation pipes must fulfill a wide variety of functions, depending on the area of use and application. Whether fire protection, acoustic sound insulation or thermal insulation: HEMA offers both standard machines and customized special solutions for the production of shells or segments for pipe insulation.

Our CNC-controlled wire cutting machines are specially designed for the industrial processing of insulating materials such as rock wool, PUR/PIR, cellular glass and other materials. Optional 2-station operation and additional modules for automated loading and unloading increase ergonomics, significantly reduce non-productive times and round off the product range.

Precise pipe shells and segments

Avoiding condensation, corrosion and heat loss are key objectives of pipe insulation. This requires a high degree of durability in order to avoid gaps and cold bridges as far as possible. With our modern contour cutters, which have been tried and tested over many years, you benefit from the following technical features and advantages, among others:


  • Productivity: Pipe shells are often cut in rows from large-volume blocks or stacks of sheets. The additional nesting of different diameters can result in complex cutting programs with correspondingly long program runtimes. The high wire speed of the HEMA contour cutters increases productivity and enables a high output even with high densities.
  • Precision: Pipe shells or segments are often not only installed on the outer circumference of pipes, but must also be fitted into double-walled sheet metal pipes. The insulation thickness must not be exceeded or undercut. Precise CNC axes and smooth wire running enable exact shape cuts even at high feed rates and small radii.
  • Ergonomics: The machine is operated using a spacious and intuitively designed user interface. The next cutting program can be prepared while the machine is working. Programs with particularly long runtimes can be processed overnight, even over several sheets or stacks of sheets when using optional automation modules. The machine then switches off automatically.
  • Safety: To protect the machine operator, the mostly abrasive dust is collected and extracted from the side as best as possible. Protective fences around the machine, interlocked doors, safety light grids and an automatic wire cut-off in the event of a wire breakage reliably protect your employees during work.
